Logo Development

Here are the draft sketches I mde for my logo design. As you can see, there's alot of variety of logos and branding name desgins I made. For the first few that I made (the top left 4),I went with using the same brand name since I saw it as appealing to people since my company is a music streaming app (which the same name would be used throughout my sketches),I thought that it would be a nice change with minimal hierarchy. However, for the big one, that most people liked,I went with focusing highly on hierarchy with making the letters 3d as well as making them a bit slanted as you read it from left to right and making each letter progressively bigger than the other (expect the P because I wanted the U to be at the same level as the P).For the logos below the huge brand name,I went with making each logo somewhat different than one another for variety and testing logo ideas I had in mind. But the one below the U,I got inspiration from the character Lucio from the game Overwatch as a friend of mine gave me the idea for it and I tried to interpret it as a logo, which I think came out pretty well but didn't use it as my final 10 at the end).

These are the electronic sketches I made for my brand. As the pencil sketches,I made a diversity of logos with minor to large changes, with some even having color. For the plain ones,I just made them with basic black and not eye changing changes, with two of them having a stretched out effect on it while still having a basic look in a sort of way (I even made a Broadway looking one just for curiosity to see how it would come out). For the modifications,I haven't changed the color yet,but I've changed the perspective of the text. For some I used the pen tool to make the text have sharp edges and changing the altitude of some text. For the colored ones,I used recycled brands while inputting different colors in them (as how the bottom right ones have light and dark purple in them and how for one of them I made the colors go from white to black). As you can tell, the gray one dosen't have an outline as I did that on purpose to see how it would come out with a negative color. But the one on the top right,I gave it a more or less pick of color with sunset orange as well as black to play with positive and negative colors together.

Here is the final draft that I chose as my logo. The reason I chose this logo was because to me it just gave a sense of enjoyment as how I made the logo look like someone listening to music with some headphones.I made sure that everything was symmetrical as how in the previous versions, that can be seen above, the mouth part was messy,so I just scrapped the mouth for final part as to I thought that it wouldn't look professional enough and that it would just be native to the look of the logo. The way how I progressed with the logo was that I would make sure to make each version at least a bit different form the other (that would be seen later on) such as giving it a headband or even some sunglasses, which that idea I definitely got rid of.In addition to the final piece,I made the headphones smaller and more rounder as well as giving the face a spherical look to it as someone gave the idea to do so.I additionally went with getting rid of the headband because I felt it wouldn't fit with the feel of the brand as well as the music streaming "vibe".

The final tweeks I went with changing or developing on futher with the look as well as the color of the logo.I went with a strategy that goes with changing anything minor or major as it goes down each row.The first row I decided to change the headphones look like putting some lines in between the headphone;I got some inspiration from those party glasses that have a similar look to them (I also had in mind to add a lighting affect to the headphones which I also changed the color of the headphones that can be seen in other rows). The second-third row I started adding text to the logo;I went with at first adding the text inside the circular bar,but then got criticized as to how the text was to small to see which is why on the fourth row I put the brand name below the logo (that actually helps with giving the logo larger hierarchy). Finally, with the fourth row,I changed the face once, that made it horrendous,as well as adding the music symbol next to/inside the logo itself, but yet again got criticized that it looked unprofessional that I soon realized. Also,I started to play around with positive and negative space within the logo as well towards the end of the final tweeks.

Here at last,is the final masterpiece of the brand. At the end of it,I went with utilizing the one that had the most variety of the whole. However, the reason why I there's two finals is because I couldn't decide which one I should set as a final final, but I'll see how it goes in the advertisements I'm going to be making after this. With the bar connecting the headphones,I made it so it would either contain positive or negative space. But nonetheless,I enjoyed making this logo for how joyous Bop is (Bop is the name of the logo that I gave him for some reason) as well as how everything looks so polished and symmetrical.I'm glad that I found the font Bauhaus 93 since it better fitted the feel of the brand than typeface of the classical era or anything like that.I don't really know what inspired me to create the shape of the headphones spherical, well I could've made it sharp but it wouldn't fit in so well, but I feel that the rounded hierarchy helps visualize my logo better since the type is also rounded. At the end of all this,I'm still glad how the logo came out.
