Type Pairing for My Brand

Image
For this assignment,I had to take the brand name I made up with the same font, but changing the font of the catch line of my brand. For the first one (the top left one),I went with establishing a clear view of type hierarchy as well as similar type that had curves and similar letter spacing. For the second one (the top right one),I went with type that had similar line patterns within the letter as the font for my brand Bauhas 93 does with the vertical lines. For the third one (bottom left one),I chose a font that had a serif unlike Bauhas as well as the font itself being bold like. For the last one (bottom right one),I chose a font that looked like it was in the same time period (2010+) as we are in right now;I was going to use a repeated font that I used for the first one,but I didn't want to repeat.

300ppi vs 72ppi

The difference between 300ppi and 72ppi is that the higher the ppi is,the higher the quality of an image is.For example, when you're at 30 ppi,you get more pixels that appear more blurred while at 300 ppi,the image quality looks more cleaner and visually more appealing.Also,72ppi is the standard resolution for images on the internet (like Google Images and stuff like that). The reason why the ppi is so important for graphic designers doing print projects is because designers typically want the best resolution for their posters or whatever there printing so it looks visually appealing without having any blurry pixels and so the art or image that displayed can be seen better.Additionally, the lower the ppi is,the less pixels are displayed but the higher the ppi is,the more pixels get added (allowing more detail per pixel). The reason why ppi is important for web designers making websites is because it would allow images to be displayed at a higher resolution. Also, pixels per inch show ...

Society of Illustrators

Image
Me and my class had a trip to the Society of Illustrators where we were observing the paintings and pieces of art from different illustrators/artists.The piece that can be seen above was made by Alex Ross that was made with watercolor on paper that was donated by Helen Ross. This was probably my favorite painting there because of how the choice of color (with the use of positive and negative space) was utilized with the detail added in the hair;this is huge inspiration for me to keep doing drawings and even use as a refrence for future projects. There was a surplus of pieces in the museum that were very captivating and intresting;a Harry Potter painting was even shown and made on a huge canvas (as well as the Dreamworks kid on the moon logo) most likely made with pencil and paint. The reason why it was my favorite piece there was because it's Harry Potter and the amount of.Throughout the visit, there were various floors that each had a different set of pie...

Photoshop Blend Modes

Image
This was an interesting assignment I had to do since I haven't been using Photoshop that often. We had to change the contrast or the visual look for each of the 25 copies of my selfie. For the first few I looked at the texture option that I found out about and played around with that for a few as well with the blur quite a bit.For the next layers I discover the Color and Gradient overlay and used that to change the colors as well as the outside shadows of each picture (that I was surprised how they all came out) as well as the Inner Shadow option that might be my favorite blending option out of all of them. For the background,I accidently changed the contrast of it,but I decided to keep it because it helped make some of the other blends stand out more (especially the red one on the bottom left corner). For the second one on the top left corner,I feel like I should've changed the opacity of it,but I just left it as is so it helps the background pass by.

Branded Printed Ad

Image
At last my final ad has been made after many days. The process that I did to create this ad goes as followed that I had some fun in the process of making the final piece:I first started with copying my logo and pasting it into the gray space, away from the main stage, then I continued with working on the background (which took me a bit to do) that I came up with giving it a thick outline with a gray backcolor to accomidate then text in the background so it would give the ad itself some meaning as how for the background type I put song lyrics from rapper DC the Don and band Dragonforce (that a friend of mine gave the idea of doing that). After finishing with the background.I moved on with positioning my logo in the middle using the 4 x 6 grid (even though it was suppose to be 6 x 4) and creating the text to go with it.I went ahead and enlarged the Beat and Today words to help give the advertisement some hierarchy aspect to it.After that,I copied and pasted a music note I...
